ABOUT THE HUI

Tēnā rā koutou katoa

He pānui tēnei kia haere mai koutou katoa ki te whakarongo ki whakawhitiwhiti kōrero ki ngā rōpū e mahi ana, e rangahau ana, e waihanga rauemi ana ki tō tatou reo Māori, arā te reo Māori-ā-waha, te reo Māori-ā-taringa.

The Māori speech hui is a platform for groups and individuals working in all aspects of Māori speech technologies to meet ‘kanohi ki te kanohi’ to discuss work in progress, technologies being used, insights gained, lessons learnt, current challenges and future directions.

The Māori Speech Hui 2023 was held on July 6 and 7, with participants representing various organizations such as Waipapa Taumata Rau – The University of Auckland, The University of Waikato, The University of Canterbury, Te Herenga Waka – Victoria University of Wellington, Te Hiku Media and Te Tāhuhu o te Mātauranga MOE.
